Presentation: Is Mobile For Me? What Skills Do I Need?

I had the honor of presenting at the second D2WC conference in Kansas City. This event featured a great group of expert speakers on design, development and mobile. I presented a session exploring the character traits that you need to possess or should hone in moving to mobile.

The real point of the session was to simply talk about the fact that joining the ranks of mobile designers and developers has a lot more to do with things inside you than with learning HTML5 or AIR for Android, Objective C or any other technology, really. Overall the comments I received on the topic were favorable and the discussion we had at the end of the session was great. I’ve posted my deck here at Slideshare. If a recording of the session becomes available, I’ll add that as well. I have posted a rather lengthy and in-depth conference recap at my personal blog here.
