Update: Chad presented a similar session at mLearnCon 2011 in San Jose, Calif., in June 2011, as well as at mLearning DevCon in October 2011.
Float Learning and Bradley University’s Department of Interactive Media in the Slane College of Communications and Fine Arts teamed up to provide a one-day event focused on mobile on Friday, June 10, 2011. Industry-leading speakers on user experience, learning and strategy presented an invaluable amount of information about mobile design, development and strategy. Marketing departments, learning departments and IT professionals benefitted from the actionable information they could take back to their organizations to invigorate their own mobile efforts. Two tracks focused on Business and Strategy, as well as Design and Development.
Float managing director Chad Udell focused on Design Strategies for Adapting Content for mLearning. This new design consideration of mLearning is foreign to many eLearning developers used to a corporate IT structure and typical PC platform requirements. Learning professionals need to understand that creating valuable mLearning content is not simply taking their existing courseware and porting it to a mobile device. Users use content differently depending on their context.
Chad has deep experience in web design and development and mobile strategy work. He has produced mobile solutions for a variety of industry leaders at Float and has been designing and developing web solutions for more than a decade.
